Army Releases Shortlist for DSSC Course 29/2026

The Nigerian Army has released the official list of successful candidates for the Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) Course 29/2026.

Applicants can now check their status via the official recruitment portal or the Army’s social media handles. This announcement marks the commencement of the final selection phase for prospective officers.

Shortlisted candidates are ordered to report to the Nigerian Army School of Infantry in Jaji, Kaduna State, on February 22, 2026. The screening begins at 9:00 a.m., and punctuality is mandatory. The Army warned that any candidate arriving after the 6:00 p.m. deadline on the reporting day will face automatic disqualification.

Confirming the announcement, the Nigerian Army stated, “The Nigerian Army is pleased to inform the general public that the list of successful candidates for Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) Course 29/2026 Selection Board is available at the NA’s recruitment website.”

Candidates must arrive with specific requirements, including white vests, blue shorts, canvas shoes, and writing materials. They are also required to present four passport photographs and four full-sized photos in suits. Failure to provide these items or necessary documentation could hinder a candidate’s participation in the exercise.

The selection process involves intense physical, medical, and aptitude tests alongside oral interviews. Candidates must present original academic credentials and NYSC discharge certificates for verification. Any evidence of document falsification or alteration will result in immediate dismissal from the recruitment process.

The Selection Board exercise is scheduled to run from February 23 to March 8, 2026. While the Army will provide accommodation and feeding, candidates must fund their own travel to Kaduna. Strict discipline is required, and visitors are prohibited for the duration of the screening.
