Osun 2026: APC Candidate Welcomes SDP, PDP Defectors

Osun 2026: APC Candidate Welcomes SDP, PDP Defectors

Ahead of the August 2026 Osun governorship election, APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji met with defectors from the SDP and PDP in Osogbo.

The meeting, hosted by the Ajisope Development Initiative, focused on integrating the new members and strengthening the party’s structure.

Oyebamiji charged the defectors to return to their local wards and focus on grassroots mobilization.

He stressed that winning individual units is the key to securing a total party victory against the incumbent administration.

The candidate dismissed rumors that President Bola Tinubu supported any movement toward the Accord Party. He urged those remaining in other parties to consolidate under the APC banner to ensure a unified front for the upcoming election.

Addressing online misinformation, Oyebamiji denied claims that he intends to slash civil servants’ salaries or implement harsh policies. He labeled these reports as baseless tactics designed to distract voters from his party’s progress.

Urging supporters to stay focused on the mission, Oyebamiji stated: “There is no way for those who are still in the Accord Party. Tell them to come and join us. The president did not tell anybody to go to the Accord Party, as they are saying around.”
