Police Arrest 3 Kidnap Suspects, Recover Arms in Kebbi

The Kebbi State Police Command has successfully arrested three men suspected of being part of a kidnapping syndicate operating in the Shanga Local Government Area.
The suspects, identified as Abubakar Muhammadu, Abdullahi Majo, and Ali Alhaji Jemu, were apprehended by security operatives at the Bagudo Market following a tip-off.
The arrests were made possible through “credible intelligence” received by the police regarding the suspects’ activities.
According to the police spokesperson, SP Bashir Usman, the trio has been linked to the abduction of a 55-year-old man from Bani Koso Village.
During the operation, security forces were able to recover several dangerous weapons from the suspects.
Highlighting the success of the raid, the police confirmed that “Two locally made firearms, a cartridge and three machetes were recovered” from the scene.
Following the arrests, the Commissioner of Police, Umar Mohammed Hadejia, has directed that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Birnin Kebbi for further profiling.
The suspects are expected to be charged in court once the investigation is concluded.
The Command has reiterated its commitment to ensuring the safety of residents and urged the public to remain vigilant.
