Destiny Boy’s Mother Reveals Son Battled Long Mysterious Illness
Saida, the mother of the late Afrobeat singer, Destiny Boy, has debunked rumors that her son died from rituals.
In a viral video, she revealed that the artist had actually been battling a long-term, mysterious illness characterized by severe seizures. She emphasized that the family had been managing his health privately for a significant period.
The illness, which she described as “Ogu oru,” took a turn for the worse shortly after the naming ceremony for Destiny Boy’s child.
While visiting a traditional figure to receive a gift, the singer collapsed, prompting a desperate search for medical help. The family moved him between various hospitals and consulted several doctors in a failed attempt to stabilize his condition.
As clinical treatments proved ineffective, the family turned to traditional and spiritual remedies. Saida explained that the severity of the seizures nearly drove her son to madness, and they deliberately hid his struggles to protect his reputation as a superstar.
They consulted herbalists and clerics, using various traditional medicines in a bid to save his life.
The grieving mother strongly warned social media users to stop spreading false claims about money rituals for “clout.” She expressed deep hurt over the misinformation and clarified that his death was the result of a medical and spiritual battle rather than any sinister involvement.
She maintained that the family exhausted every possible resource to help him.
Recalling his final days, Saida noted that Destiny Boy appeared happy and generous, even planning for an upcoming show.
On the Saturday before he passed, he was seen interacting with fans and buying items for people in his community. However, a final, fatal seizure eventually occurred, leading to the untimely death of the young musician.
