No Casualty At Odo-Kekere School Collapse

A classroom bungalow at Odo-Kekere High School in Ikorodu in Lagos state has collapsed but without causing any injuries.
Since the incident occurred on a Thursday evening while the school was empty, no casualties were recorded, though it caused brief local concern.
The Special Committee on Rehabilitation of Public Schools (SCRPS) noted the building was already scheduled for demolition. It was part of a state-wide plan to replace outdated structures with modern facilities to better serve the growing student population.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu quickly ordered the relocation of students to nearby schools to ensure their education remains uninterrupted.
This move prioritizes student safety while the damaged site is secured and managed by state officials.
SCRPS technical experts are conducting a site assessment to prepare for the construction of a new, ultra-modern classroom block. In the meantime, emergency responders have cordoned off the area to ensure public safety during the investigation.
Lagos officials reaffirmed their dedication to upgrading school infrastructure to provide safe learning environments. This event highlights the importance of the state’s ongoing efforts to identify and replace fragile buildings before they become hazards.
