Homeland Security Secretary, Kristi Noem’s Purse Stolen Containing $3,000 in Cash

On April 20, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem was a victim of theft while dining at a well-known restaurant in Washington, D.C. During her visit to The Capital Burger, a thief stole her handbag, which held $3,000 in cash along with various personal and official items.

Noem reportedly withdrew the money to celebrate Easter with her family, treating her children and grandchildren to festivities that included meals, activities, and gifts. The purse contained not only the cash but also her driver’s license, passport, DHS access badge, blank checks, medication, and a makeup bag.

The theft occurred despite Noem being accompanied by Secret Service agents assigned to her protection. Surveillance video from the restaurant captured a white male wearing a medical mask who approached her table and quickly grabbed the purse from beneath her seat before fleeing the scene, catching Noem and her family off guard.
