2,150 Kwara Pilgrims Set for 2025 Hajj Exercise
Nonfewernthan 2,150 intending pilgrims from Kwara State have been confirmed for participation in the 2025 Hajj pilgrimage.
The announcement was made by the Executive Secretary of the Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Abdulsalam Abdulkadir, during an enlightenment and special prayer session held in Ilorin.
The event, organized to prepare pilgrims spiritually and mentally, focused on the importance of Hajj as a sacred duty and a journey of self-purification. Alhaji Abdulkadir emphasized the need for discipline, patience, and sincere devotion throughout the exercise. He also used the occasion to remind participants about the dos and don’ts of the pilgrimage, particularly as representatives of Nigeria and Kwara State in the Holy Land.
The cost of the 2025 Hajj has been pegged at ₦8,459,000, and most pilgrims have met the payment deadline initially set for April 11. However, fewer than 30 individuals were yet to complete their payments as of April 20, prompting the board to grant a final two-day grace period ending on April 22. After this date, the Hajj portal will be officially closed, and no further registrations will be accepted.
Max Air has been officially contracted to airlift Kwara pilgrims to Saudi Arabia. The airline, known for its longstanding experience in Hajj operations, is expected to begin transportation once the Saudi authorities give the green light for the 2025 pilgrimage window, which is scheduled to run from June 4 to June 9, corresponding to 9 Dhu al-Hijjah 1446 AH.
The Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has assured that all logistical and welfare arrangements are in top gear. From accommodation and feeding to medical support and spiritual guidance, the board has pledged a seamless and rewarding Hajj experience for all participants.
As anticipation builds, the board continues to hold enlightenment programs to instill the right mindset and conduct in all pilgrims. These sessions also serve as platforms for prayers, unity, and collective readiness for one of the most spiritually significant journeys in a Muslim’s life.
