Explosion Targets Mosque in Maiduguri Market
A suspected Improvised Explosive Device (IED) has detonated at a mosque located within the Gamboru Main Market in Maiduguri, Borno State.
The blast occurred at approximately 6:00 pm on Wednesday, as worshippers gathered for their evening (Magrib) prayers.
Gamboru Main Market Mosque, is a high-traffic area frequently used by local traders and shoppers.
Early reports suggest the explosive was planted inside the mosque before the prayer session began.
Information remains limited as the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Kenneth Daso, could not be reached for an official statement at the time of reporting.
