Kenny Okolugbo Resigns as Akpabio’s Communications Consultant
Kenny Okolugbo has resigned his appointment as Consultant on Communications and Strategy to the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio
The resignation was conveyed in a letter dated December 22, 2025, and addressed to the Senate President through his Chief of Staff, Chinedu Akubueze. In the letter, Okolugbo cited “business and family commitments” as the reasons for his decision to step down I have enjoyed working with the team. I should also point out the privilege of being an adviser to the number three citizen of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” Okolugbo stated in the letter, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to serve in the role Sources within the National Assembly confirmed that the Senate President has accepted Okolugbo’s resignation and wished him well in his future endeavours. The resignation is expected to take effect from January 1, 2026 Okolugbo played a key role in shaping and coordinating the media and communications strategy of the Senate President during his tenure, particularly at a time of heightened legislative activities under the 10th National Assembly. His exit marks a notable change within Akpabio’s communications team There was no immediate announcement on who would replace Okolugbo or whether a restructuring of the communications unit would follow his departure.
