Tinubu Felicitates Oyebanji at 58, Praises Leadership, Development in Ekiti

President Bola Tinubu has extended warm congratulations to Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, on the occasion of his 58th birthday, marked on December 21, 2025, applauding his years of public service and leadership in the state.

In a congratulatory message issued over the weekend and made public on Sunday through the State House platform, the President commended Oyebanji for his dedication to governance and his contributions to the growth of Ekiti State.

The statement was signed by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

Tinubu reflected on the governor’s long-standing involvement in public administration, noting his role as Secretary to the Committee that facilitated the creation of Ekiti State.

He also recalled Oyebanji’s subsequent appointments, including his service as Special Adviser to the state’s first civilian governor, Otunba Adeniyi Adebayo, and later as Chief of Staff.

The President further highlighted Oyebanji’s tenure as Commissioner for Integration and Intergovernmental Affairs during the first term of former Governor Kayode Fayemi, as well as his later position as Secretary to the State Government.

Oyebanji, who was elected governor in 2022, has since secured the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket to seek re-election in the 2026 governorship poll.

Tinubu also acknowledged the progress recorded in Ekiti under the current administration, particularly in infrastructure development, with notable advances in agriculture and aviation.

He expressed confidence in the governor’s capacity to sustain development initiatives and wished him continued strength and success in service to the people of the state.
