Fubara, Wike Exchange Pleasantries at Amachree’s Mother’s Burial in Rivers
Governor of Rivers State, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, on Friday exchanged pleasantries at the burial ceremony of the late mother of Hon. Ojukaye Flag Amachree in Buguma town, Asari-Toru Local Government Area of the state.
The burial ceremony, which is currently ongoing, drew a large crowd of political leaders, traditional rulers, community stakeholders, and residents, who gathered to honour the late matriarch and show support to the Amachree family.
The brief interaction between Governor Fubara and Minister Wike at the event attracted public attention, coming amid reports of political tension between their camps. Observers at the ceremony described the exchange as cordial, with both leaders acknowledging each other in a show of respect and maturity.
Hon. Ojukaye Flag Amachree is a prominent political figure in Rivers State, and the burial of his mother has continued to attract high-profile guests from within and outside the state.
The funeral rites featured Christian prayers, tributes, and cultural displays, as family members and well-wishers paid their final respects to the deceased in her hometown of Buguma.
