BAT Vanguard Endorses Tinubu for Second Term, Targets 10 Million Votes Nationwide Ahead of 2027

The Bola Ahmed Tinubu (BAT) Vanguard, a political support group aligned with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has formally endorsed his bid for a second term in office ahead of the 2027 general elections, unveiling plans to mobilise 10 million votes across Nigeria in support of his re‑election.

The endorsement was announced on Monday by Hon. Sola Olofin, Convener of BAT Vanguard, during the group’s End-of-Year Party and Special Recognition Awards 2026 held in Abuja under the theme “Standing Firm for Renewed Hope: The BAT Vanguard Mandate.”

Olofin said the group has begun expanding and strengthening its grassroots structures nationwide to ensure a broad-based voter mobilisation strategy in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda championed by President Tinubu.

Olofin emphasised that BAT Vanguard is positioning itself not merely as an election-year campaign body but as a long-term supporter of Tinubu’s policy agenda.

According to him, the group plans structured engagement with key government ministries, departments, and agencies beginning in 2026 to support effective implementation and accountability of national programmes aligned with the president’s developmental priorities.

In addition to political mobilisation, BAT Vanguard intends to roll out a nationwide social support programme targeting vulnerable households. The initiative includes the distribution of food items, school materials, and other welfare assistance, which Olofin said is aimed at strengthening community engagement and promoting the party’s development-focused agenda ahead of the elections.

Speaking at the event, Olofin also highlighted his role as Chairman of the Management Board of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF), praising President Tinubu for the appointment. He noted that under his leadership, NSITF is undergoing reforms focused on digital transformation, improved governance, and rebuilding public trust in the nation’s social security system, aligning with the broader goals of the Renewed Hope Agenda.

The BAT Vanguard endorsement underscores the growing political organisation among supporters of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), signalling early mobilisation and strategic planning to consolidate support for Tinubu’s re-election bid.

Political observers note that groups like BAT Vanguard are increasingly influential in shaping grassroots narratives and ensuring strong turnout for candidates aligned with their agenda.

With the 2027 elections just over a year away, the endorsement and voter mobilisation strategy by BAT Vanguard represents one of the first major moves by civil society and political interest groups to rally support behind President Tinubu, setting the stage for what promises to be a highly contested electoral cycle.
