Alex Otti Parleys President Tinubu in Diplomatic Move to Free Nnamdi Kanu
Governor Alex Otti of Abia State was at the State House in Abuja on Tuesday evening for a crucial meeting with President Bola Tinubu, a visit which is seen as a key move in the ongoing effort to secure the release of the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.
The Governor’s engagement with the nation’s head of state comes on the heels of a recent high-profile visit he made to Mr. Kanu at the correctional facility in Sokoto where the separatist figure is currently incarcerated.
During the prison visit, Governor Otti was accompanied by a delegation that included the IPOB leader’s sibling, Emmanuel Kanu; the Abia State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Ikechukwu Uwanna (Senior Advocate of Nigeria); and his spokesperson, Ferdinand Ekeoma.
Governor Otti has repeatedly affirmed his dedication to exploring every constitutional and legal pathway to facilitate Mr. Kanu’s freedom.
The outcome of the meeting remains undisclosed, but the engagement underscores Governor Otti’s commitment to finding a lasting solution through federal-level advocacy.
