Group Applauds Tinubu’s Nationwide Security Emergency
The Omoluabi Parapo Conservative Group has praised President Bola Tinubu for declaring a state of emergency on insecurity in Nigeria, describing the move as a decisive step toward restoring peace and stability.
The group’s convener, Aderonke Okeleye, made the remarks in a statement on Sunday, highlighting Tinubu’s swift response to the recent surge in school kidnappings and other security threats across the country.
Okeleye said the president’s directive reflects a strong political will to protect citizens and ensure that national development is not undermined by the “increasingly audacious activities of criminal elements.”
She added that the emergency declaration provides security agencies with an opportunity to deepen collaboration, enhance operational strategies, and prioritise intelligence-driven approaches to safeguard vulnerable communities nationwide.
According to Okeleye, the government’s proactive measures are expected to strengthen the country’s security architecture and reassure Nigerians of the state’s commitment to public safety.
The statement underscores growing public and civil society support for Tinubu’s efforts to tackle insecurity, amid mounting concern over kidnappings, armed robbery, and other violent crimes in several parts of Nigeria.
