Ododo Grants Automatic Employment to Best Graduating CUSTECH Students

Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has approved automatic employment for the best graduating students across all faculties of the Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), Osara.

The governor made the announcement on Saturday during the university’s maiden combined convocation ceremony held at the CUSTECH convocation arena.

Governor Ododo praised the outstanding academic performance of the graduating students, describing their achievements as a reflection of the university’s commitment to excellence.

He also commended his predecessor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, for establishing CUSTECH, noting that the institution has already begun to justify its creation.

While acknowledging the dedication of the pioneer students and staff, Ododo said their resilience and sacrifices were instrumental in positioning the young university for success.

“As a government, we will continue to provide the enabling environment for this institution to thrive despite contending demands on our limited resources,” he said. “Universities play a pivotal role in human capital development, and we shall continue to commit reasonable resources to make them qualitative, accessible and affordable.”

The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to promoting academic excellence across the state’s higher institutions.

He expressed determination to uphold the founding vision behind CUSTECH and ensure that Kogi’s universities compete favorably on a national scale.

“Our focus is to make the three state universities across the senatorial districts centres of excellence. We aim to enhance their competitiveness and support them in achieving significant scientific and technological breakthroughs,” Ododo added.

The automatic employment gesture has been widely applauded by stakeholders, who say it will motivate students to strive for excellence and strengthen the state’s workforce with highly skilled graduates.
