President Tinubu Names Governor Uzodimma as Renewed Hope Ambassador

Ahead of the national launch of the Federal Government’s Ward Development Programme, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State as the Renewed Hope Ambassador.

The appointment takes immediate effect.

In his new role, Governor Uzodimma will also serve as Director-General for Party Outreach, Engagement, and Mobilisation. He is expected to collaborate with the All Progressives Congress (APC) leadership and other governors to evangelise the Tinubu administration’s programmes, ensuring harmony, inclusiveness, and strategic coordination across all levels of the party. APC governors will also serve as Ambassadors of Hope in this initiative.

As Renewed Hope Ambassador, Governor Uzodimma, who chairs the Progressive Governors Forum, will be responsible for mobilising and engaging Nigerians, promoting the party’s achievements and milestones since 2023, and reinforcing the nationwide message of Renewed Hope.

President Tinubu, who assumed office in May 2023 with a reform agenda, noted several key successes under his administration. Inflation has eased for the seventh consecutive month to 16.05 per cent as of October, the exchange rate has stabilised, and foreign exchange reserves have grown to over $46 billion, up from $32 billion, compared to the $4 billion net reserve inherited in 2023.

Investor confidence in Nigeria is returning, with both foreign direct and portfolio investments increasing, particularly benefiting the oil and gas sector.

The stock market is experiencing unprecedented growth, and economic diversification efforts, especially in solid minerals, are gaining momentum.

The government’s liberal educational loan policy has enrolled over 700,000 students, while Nigerian citizens can now obtain travel passports in less than a week.

In a message to Governor Uzodimma, President Tinubu urged him to ensure that Nigerians are fully aware of and understand the administration’s achievements, reinforcing the vision of Renewed Hope across the nation.
