Police Arrest 3 Suspects Over Deadly Attack on Benue Community
Operatives of the Benue State Police Command have arrested three key suspects allegedly involved in the deadly attack on Anwule community in Ohimini Local Government Area, where several residents including a pastor lost their lives.
The suspects, identified as Isah Peter and Moses Peter from Agatu Local Government Area, as well as a Fulani herdsman whose name has not yet been released, were apprehended following intensive investigations by the police.
According to security sources, Isah Peter, who previously served as the acting commander of the Eguma community vigilante group, is accused of using a community-owned firearm during the operation that led to the attack in Anwule.
Police authorities say the arrests mark a major step forward in uncovering the full network behind the assault.
The Command noted that investigations are ongoing and more suspects may be identified as interrogations continue.
Community leaders in Ohimini have expressed relief over the development and urged the police to ensure all perpetrators are brought to justice.
The Benue State Police Command is expected to release further details as the investigation progresses.
