Senator Sandy Onor Denies Viral Video, Warns About Dangers of AI-Generated Content

Senator Sandy Ojang Onor has dismissed a viral video circulating on social media that purportedly shows him involved in a fight, confirming that the footage is AI-generated and not real.

In a statement, Senator Onor said, “I had already left the PDP Secretariat before the fight. All the videos you are seeing about me on social media are AI-generated.”

He further emphasized the risks posed by misinformation in the digital age, warning that manipulated content created using advanced AI tools can mislead the public, create unnecessary tension, and damage the reputations of individuals.

“This situation underscores the urgent need for caution when consuming content online,” Onor added, noting that deepfake and AI-manipulated materials are becoming increasingly sophisticated and difficult to identify.

The senator’s clarification comes amid growing concerns about the spread of deepfake videos in political and academic circles, with experts highlighting the potential impact on public perception and trust.

Senator Onor urged citizens, journalists, and social media users to verify the authenticity of digital content before sharing, stressing the importance of promoting accurate information and responsible online behavior.
