Remo Stars Welcome Postponement of Derby Clash with Shooting Stars

Remo Stars assistant coach, Sulaiman Folarin, has expressed satisfaction with the indefinite postponement of their highly anticipated Matchday 13 fixture against local rivals, Shooting Stars (3SC).

The coach believes the break will be beneficial for his squad, which has struggled with consistency this season.

The match, a South West derby originally scheduled for Sunday, November 16, 2025, was postponed because the venue, the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan (3SC’s home ground), is currently occupied by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Elective Convention, which is taking place this weekend.

The postponement offers a timely respite for the “Sky Blue Stars,” who currently occupy the 16th position on the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) table. The team recently suffered a disappointing 1-0 defeat to Rangers at home on Thursday, marking their first home loss in 56 league games.

Folarin directly attributed the team’s recent struggles and the defeat to fatigue, stating:“The defeat to Rangers was due to fatigue, the players didn’t play to expectations but they tried. The postponed fixture against Shooting Stars will give us time to train and rest so we can get better in subsequent fixtures.”

The NPFL authorities are expected to communicate a new date for the fixture to both clubs shortly.
