Buni Swears In Head Of Service, Commissioner, Others
Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni on Tuesday swore in Alhaji Abdullahi Musa Shehu as the substantive Head of Service, alongside a new commissioner, permanent secretaries, and other senior officials of the state government
The swearing-in ceremony, held at the Government House in Damaturu, marked another phase in the governor’s effort to strengthen the state’s civil service and improve administrative efficiency. Governor Buni, while administering the oath of office, charged the new appointees to uphold transparency, discipline, and commitment in the discharge of their duties. He reminded them that their appointments were based on merit, competence, and trust, urging them to justify the confidence reposed in them by serving the people diligently He said, “You have been chosen to serve based on your experience and track record of performance. I expect total dedication to duty, honesty, and teamwork. The people of Yobe deserve the best, and we must deliver on our promises.” The governor noted that his administration remains committed to reforms that will make the state civil service more effective, productive, and responsive to modern challenges. He assured that government will continue to provide a conducive working environment to enable civil servants perform optimally Alhaji Abdullahi Musa Shehu, who had previously served in an acting capacity before his confirmation, thanked the governor for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to work closely with all ministries and agencies to promote professionalism, staff welfare, and service delivery Stakeholders and civic groups in the state have applauded the appointments, describing them as a step toward strengthening governance and ensuring continuity in the state’s public administration Governor Buni reaffirmed his administration’s determination to complete ongoing projects, promote good governance, and ensure that Yobe remains one of the most stable and progressive states in the country The newly sworn-in officials are expected to assume duties immediately and drive the implementation of government policies across all sectors.
