Haaland Brace Lifts Manchester City Over Bournemouth in 3–1 Victory
Erling Haaland netted twice in quick succession as Manchester City secured a 3–1 win over Bournemouth in their Premier League clash on Sunday.
Pep Guardiola’s side entered the match under pressure, with all of their title rivals having claimed victories the previous day.
Despite an energetic start from Bournemouth, City soon found their rhythm and took control of proceedings.
Haaland opened the scoring midway through the first half after breaking clear of his marker to slot home confidently.
However, the visitors hit back soon after when Tyler Adams scrambled the ball over the line in the 25th minute to level the score.
City restored their advantage before the break, with Haaland striking again to complete his brace and put the defending champions in front at halftime.
After the restart, Nico O’Reilly sealed the win for the hosts, drilling in a well-taken third goal to cap off a dominant display at the Etihad Stadium.
The victory lifts Manchester City to second place in the Premier League table with 19 points, narrowing the gap to leaders Arsenal, who remain six points ahead.
