Nenadi Usman Heads ADC Reconciliation Efforts in Kaduna Chapter Crisis

The national leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has taken steps to resolve the protracted internal crisis rocking its Kaduna State chapter, with the appointment of former Minister of Finance, Senator Nenadi Usman, as Coalition Chairman to oversee the party’s affairs and foster reconciliation.

Usman, who also serves as the National Chairman of the Peter Obi faction of the Labour Party (LP), was selected to replace the embattled Julius Abure.

Speaking during a press briefing in Kaduna, the ADC’s National Vice Chairman (Northwest), Ja’afaru Sani, said the move was part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the party’s unity and reposition it for effective participation in upcoming elections.

Sani cautioned against what he described as external political interference, alleging that certain actors were attempting to destabilize the ADC in Kaduna.

He further disclosed that the coalition leadership had reached an agreement to impose sanctions on expelled members who took internal party matters to court, a development he said had slowed the party’s progress.

According to him, the ADC remains focused on restoring members’ confidence and building cohesion within its ranks.

He reaffirmed the party’s commitment to forging alliances and presenting a united opposition ahead of future political activities in the state.

Sani concluded that the appointment of Senator Usman signals a new phase of reconciliation and restructuring, aimed at restoring stability and credibility to the party’s Kaduna chapter.
