Police Foil Robbery Attempt, Arrest Two Suspects In Bauchi
The Bauchi State Police Command has foiled a robbery attempt and arrested two suspects in Azare, Katagum Local Government Area of the state.
The incident occurred around 5:00 a.m. on Saturday following a distress call from residents of the Gandum Wambai area in Azare. The call reported that armed men had invaded the premises of GKY Food and Oil Mills with the intent to rob.
Responding swiftly, police operatives, in collaboration with local vigilantes, intercepted the suspects after a chase that ended at Lafiya village along the Lafiya–Gwasame road. Two locally made firearms and a stolen Bajaj motorcycle were recovered from the scene.
Confirming the arrest, the Police Public Relations Officer said the suspects were apprehended before they could carry out their plan, adding that investigations were ongoing to determine whether they belonged to a larger criminal network.
The Commissioner of Police, Bauchi State Command, commended the operatives for their prompt action and the synergy between the police and local security groups. He assured residents that the command remained committed to protecting lives and property across the state.
He also urged the public to remain vigilant and to continue reporting suspicious movements or activities to the nearest police station for timely response.
