Tinubu Saddened by Bloodbath in Plateau, Vows Repercussions
President Bola Tinubu has expressed sorrow over the recent bloodshed in Plateau State, a tragedy that has claimed over 40 lives.
The President strongly condemns the violence and extends his sympathies to Governor Caleb Mutfwang, the state government, and the people of Plateau.
In a State House statement, President Tinubu described the attack as “a senseless and heinous act that has caused immense pain and suffering to the affected communities.”
He urged Governor Mutfwang to summon the necessary political will to resolve the crisis and establish enduring peace in the state.
“The Federal Government will not tolerate any form of violence or bloodshed in any part of the country. .
“We will work closely with the state government to identify the root causes of the conflict and address them once and for all. The people of Plateau State deserve to live in peace and harmony, and we will do everything in our power to ensure that,” the statement said.
President Tinubu also directed the security agencies to intensify efforts to apprehend the perpetrators of the attack and bring them to justice. He assured the people of Plateau State that the Federal Government will provide all necessary support to the state government to restore peace and stability in the affected areas.
The President’s statement comes after a series of violent clashes between rival communities in Plateau State, resulting in the loss of lives and destruction of property.
The crisis has raised concerns about the ability of the state government to maintain law and order, and the need for a more comprehensive approach to address the underlying communal issues.
In response to the President’s directive, Governor Mutfwang has announced a series of measures to address the crisis, including the establishment of a peace committee to engage with community leaders and stakeholders.
