I Will Campaign for President Tinubu’s Re-election Across Nigeria, Declares Tompolo

Ex-militant leader and prominent Niger Delta figure, Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, has openly declared his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid, pledging to mobilize nationwide support to ensure the President secures a second term in office.

Speaking during a community event in Delta State, Tompolo said he and his supporters were fully committed to working for Tinubu’s continuity in power beyond 2027.

He emphasized that the President had demonstrated leadership experience and capacity needed to take Nigeria to greater heights, despite the current economic and security challenges.

According to him, President Tinubu deserves the same opportunity enjoyed by his predecessor, Muhammadu Buhari, who served for eight years.

“We will do our part even go beyond our boundaries to campaign for President Tinubu,” Tompolo said. “We will go to the northern part of the country to talk to our brothers so that he can get his second tenure. Tinubu is a good person; he has the experience to do everything to carry this country to a higher level.”

Tompolo urged Nigerians to set aside political and ethnic differences in the interest of national unity and stability, warning against any attempt to disrupt the country’s democratic process.

“Buhari spent eight years, and we don’t want anybody to cause any problem. Let Tinubu have his own eight years too, and then we can wait for another person to come in. There’s no need for anybody to say they have a monopoly of power,” he said.

He called on traditional rulers, youth groups, and political stakeholders across Nigeria to rally behind the President, stressing that continuity in leadership would help consolidate the administration’s ongoing reforms and development initiatives.

“We must allow Tinubu to rule his eight years. We should appeal to everybody, and by the grace of God, everyone will support us. Our traditional rulers, the young and the old, have all endorsed Mr. President for a second term,” Tompolo added.

Tompolo, who has played a key role in maintaining peace in the Niger Delta through his pipeline surveillance contract with the Federal Government, is widely seen as an influential figure capable of mobilizing grassroots support across the oil-producing region.

Political observers say his open endorsement of President Tinubu could boost the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC)’s outreach in the South-South region, where the party has historically struggled to gain strong electoral support.
