Security Operatives Nab Two Wounded Bandits, Arrest Medical Personnel in Kogi

Security operatives in Kogi State have arrested two suspected bandits who were receiving treatment for gunshot wounds in a camp located at Ahinrin-Bunu, in Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area of the state.
The suspects were apprehended following a tip-off that led security forces to storm the camp, which was subsequently destroyed. The operation, reports say, was a joint effort involving the military, police, and local vigilante groups, coordinated by the Kogi State Security Adviser, Commander Jerry Omodara (rtd).
Two medical personnel who were allegedly treating the injured bandits were also arrested at the scene. The security team razed down the camp and other nearby hideouts believed to be used by criminal elements in the area.
According to government sources, the suspects had sustained bullet injuries during an earlier exchange with security operatives and had been hiding in the forest while receiving medical attention.
Commander Omodara said the successful raid was part of ongoing efforts to rid the state of criminal elements, in line with Governor Usman Ododo’s directive to make Kogi unsafe for bandits and kidnappers.
He further warned that anyone found aiding, abetting, or providing shelter to criminals would face the full weight of the law, regardless of status or location.
The state government reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining coordinated security operations and maintaining the peace that Kogi has enjoyed in recent years.
