South-East Elders Alliance Supports President Tinubu’s Re-election Bid

A political support group, South-East Elders Alliance for Tinubu 2027, Enugu North Senatorial District, has declared its complete support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.

The group, which was inaugurated in Nsukka, Enugu State, noted that the South-East geo-political zone has benefited from a plethora of advantages courtesy of the President’s administration, including the employment of numerous children of the region in key positions.

In a statement signed by the conveners of the group, including Hon. Humphrey Nsofor, Prof. Damian Opata, Prof. Chuka Ezema, and Dr. Anthony Alumona, in a statement, the coalition appreciated President Tinubu for the appointments of respected individuals from the zone, which include Vice-Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla as Chief of Naval Staff, Frank Mba as Deputy Inspector General of Police, and Prof. Melvin D. Ayogu as a Member of the Board of Directors of the Central Bank of Nigeria.

The team also confirmed the appointment of Prof. Iliyasu Usman as the first Igbo Imam of Central Mosque, Abuja, and the appointments of Dr. Mrs. Amaka Onu, Hon. Favour Nkem Asogwa, and Chief Eva Asadu to the federal boards and agencies.

While thanking the President for making these appointments, the group implored President Tinubu to prioritize ending the harsh economic climate in the nation, fixing the exchange rate of the naira, and reducing fuel prices and food inflation.

The President was also implored by the group to establish a digital response arm of the Nigerian security architecture to counter the rising insecurity in the country.

Besides, the group called on President Tinubu to proceed with having a review of the constitution in order to create more states in Nigeria, and this would be a historic feat for his administration.

They further appealed to the President to realize his eight-year term in the South by holding re-election in 2027, and this would abate bitterness in the choice of presidential candidates.

The statement concluded by urging all Nigerians to support President Tinubu’s re-election, stating, “Mr. President, may the Almighty God continue to guide your administration in the right direction.”
