APC Chieftain Warns Pantami’s Exit Will Be Major Political Loss

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Bauchi State, Khamis Darazo, has urged the party’s national leadership and the Presidency to prevent the possible exit of former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Professor Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, warning that his departure would be a major political setback for the ruling party.

Darazo made the appeal on Sunday in Bauchi while speaking with journalists, describing Pantami’s potential defection as “a major political loss and setback for the APC, both in the North and across Nigeria.”

He said, “The attention of the Presidency and the national leadership of our great party, the APC, is urgently needed to address the growing concerns surrounding talks about our respected brother and statesman, Professor Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami’s likely exit from our party.”

The APC stalwart expressed concern over speculations that Pantami, whom he described as a founding supporter and loyal member of the party, might be considering leaving.

According to him, “Professor Pantami is more than a politician, he is an intellectual, reformer, and bridge-builder who has consistently used knowledge, faith, and integrity to promote good governance and inspire young Nigerians.”

Darazo praised Pantami’s tenure under former President Muhammadu Buhari, noting that his leadership of the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy transformed Nigeria’s digital landscape through innovation, job creation, and entrepreneurship.

He warned that losing Pantami would erode the party’s intellectual depth and moral influence, adding that it could also dampen the morale of millions of Nigerian youths who see the former minister as a symbol of integrity and visionary leadership.

Darazo called on President Bola Tinubu, the APC National Chairman, and other key stakeholders to reach out to Pantami and resolve any grievances that might have led to the speculated exit.

“The APC’s strength has always been rooted in unity, inclusion, and visionary leadership. Every loyal member is important, especially someone like Professor Pantami, whose influence and moral standing transcend party lines,” he said.

While reaffirming his support for President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, Darazo urged the party leadership to act swiftly, stressing that “the APC cannot afford to lose such an invaluable pillar at this defining stage of our political journey.”
