Traumatised Babanla Community Hails Locating Army Headquarters to Boost Security in Kwara South

The people of Babanla Community in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State have commended the Federal Government for establishing the 22 Armoured Brigade Step-Up Headquarters in the area, describing it as a major step toward strengthening security in Kwara South.

In a statement issued under the banner of Babanla Youths for Sustainable Development (BYSD), the community expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, and Ifelodun Local Government Chairman Abdulrasheed Femi Yusuf for what they called a “collaborative commitment to peace and safety.”

The group said the new army formation would enhance rapid response to security threats and restore confidence among residents across the senatorial district.

“The establishment of the 22 Armoured Brigade Step-Up Headquarters in Babanla represents a significant milestone that will fortify our security framework, enhance rapid responses to emerging threats, and provide our community with the assurance that our government is committed to our safety and well-being,” the statement read in part.

The youths also commended federal and state representatives from Kwara South for their continuous advocacy and partnership on security and infrastructure issues, noting that their united efforts contributed to the project’s realization.

They pledged full cooperation with the Nigerian Army and other security agencies in their mission to safeguard lives and property.

“We pray for the continued success, safety, and divine strength of our security personnel, and for wisdom and guidance for our leaders as they serve with integrity and patriotism,” the group added.

The community expressed optimism that the military presence would mark the beginning of lasting peace and stability in Kwara South.
