Brighton Stun Chelsea to End Stamford Bridge Unbeaten Streak

Chelsea’s 12-game unbeaten home record in the Premier League was shattered on Saturday after Brighton came from behind to seal a 3-1 victory over the 10-man Blues at Stamford Bridge.
The London side took control in the first half when Enzo Fernández rose highest to head in a cross from Reece James, following a well-worked move initiated by Moisés Caicedo. Mauricio Pochettino’s men looked composed and in charge as they went into halftime with the advantage.
However, the encounter shifted dramatically just minutes into the second half.
Trevoh Chalobah was sent off for a last-man challenge, reducing Chelsea to 10 players for the second consecutive league outing. Brighton seized the opportunity and mounted relentless pressure.
Their persistence paid off in the 77th minute when Danny Welbeck converted a pinpoint delivery from Yankuba Minteh. Maxim De Cuyper then registered his maiden goal for the Seagulls with a header, turning the scoreline in Brighton’s favor.
Welbeck put the result beyond doubt in stoppage time, completing his brace and capping a memorable away performance for Roberto De Zerbi’s team.
The defeat left Chelsea supporters disappointed, many pointing to Chalobah’s dismissal as the decisive moment in the match.
For Brighton, it marked their first major away triumph of the campaign, lifting spirits after a mixed start to the season.
