Niyi Akinmolayan, Dudu Tech Introduce Tech Solution to Transform Nollywood

In a bid to revolutionize the Nigerian movie industry, also known as Nollywood, acclaimed film director and founder of Anthill Studios, Niyi Akinmolayan, has collaborated with Dudu Tech to launch NollywoodFilmaker.com.
This innovative virtual platform brings together a diverse range of professionals, including directors, screenwriters, editors, VFX artists, lawyers, movie marketers, and more, into a single, tightly controlled space.
The launch event, which took place at the J.K. Randle Center on April 1, 2025, saw Akinmolayan unveil the tech solution, which promises to steer the Nollywood industry in the right direction.
“Before making your next film, consult with the right people,” Akinmolayan advised. “Let professionals handle the aspects of your film that you can’t. Avoid falling prey to scammers, guesswork, and lost partnerships due to lack of technical expertise. Use intellectual property lawyers for contracts and make successful films with the best people in the business.”
Akinmolayan emphasized that the key to achieving true profit and sustainable success in Nollywood lies in putting the right people in the right roles. “This platform makes that possible,” he said.
Shaibu Hussein, Executive Director and CEO of the National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB), expressed his delight with the project, describing it as a game-changer for the Nigerian film industry. “I assure you that NFVCB will feature the app on our website,” he said.
NollywoodFilmaker.com is designed to register and verify film production talents, connecting them with aspiring and established filmmakers who need their services. The platform aims to eliminate fraud in the delivery of filmmaking services and deploy a world-class training and rating system.
By leveraging cutting-edge technology, a 200-strong consulting cohort, and dedication, the platform seeks to create a thriving ecosystem within the Nollywood industry. The launch event, which took place at the J.K. Randle Center for Yoruba Culture, was attended by industry leaders, government regulators, seasoned actors, financial investors, marketers, musicians, content creators, and aspiring filmmakers.
The event culminated in a live demonstration of the platform, where an audience member, Aproko Doctor, signed up for the service and connected with one of the hundreds of consultants on the platform. The evening began with a countdown to the website launch but ended with a room full of energized stakeholders, all of whom were optimistic about the future of Nollywood. As the event came to a close, it was clear that a new era of joy and success is on the horizon for the Nigerian movie industry.
