Sultan of Sokoto in Ibadan for Oba Ladoja’s Coronation as 44th Olubadan

The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar III, on Thursday arrived in Ibadan to witness the installation of Oba Rasheed Adewolu Ladoja as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.

The monarch was received at the event by the Oyo State Commissioner for Works, Alhaji Mojeed Mogbonjubola, top government officials, and members of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA).

He came in company of his aides, respected Islamic clerics, and other eminent personalities from Sokoto.

Speaking shortly after his arrival, the Sultan hailed the ceremony as “a celebration of unity, heritage, and leadership.”

He stressed that his participation also reflects the strong ties between traditional rulers in the North and their counterparts in the South-West.

The coronation of Oba Ladoja is drawing notable figures from across Nigeria, underlining the cultural prominence of Ibadan and the symbolic role of its throne in preserving tradition and fostering national cohesion.
