Vice Chairman of Badagry West LCDA, Princess Oluremi Nutayi Ajose, Dies Two Months After Swearing-In

The Vice Chairman of Badagry West Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Princess Oluremi Nutayi Ajose, has passed away, barely two months after assuming office.

Her death was confirmed on Sunday through local media platforms, including Citymood Badagry, sparking an outpouring of grief across social media within the community and beyond.

Princess Ajose was sworn in alongside the council chairman, Hon. Rauf Ibrahim Kayode Yemaren, popularly known as RIKAY, less than two months ago. Her sudden demise has raised fresh concerns, as she becomes the third female elected administrator in Lagos to die shortly after assuming office this year.

In July, Oluwakemi Rufai, a councillor in Ibeju Lekki, died just two weeks after her swearing-in. Days later, Zainab Shotayo, a councillor representing Odiolowo-Ojuwoye LCDA, also passed away.

Princess Ajose was a daughter of His Royal Majesty, Oba Oyekan Possi Ajose, the Alapa of Apa Egun-Awori Kingdom.

Her role in the council was seen as a significant representation of women in governance in Badagry West.

As of the time of filing this report, the cause of her death has not been officially disclosed.

Her passing marks a tragic blow to the people of Badagry West and Lagos State at large, where she was regarded as a rising political figure.
