Tinubu Approves Automatic Employment for Children of Late FCT Head of Service Grace Adayilo

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved automatic employment for the four children of the late Head of the Civil Service of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Dr. Grace Adayilo, who passed away earlier this month. The announcement was made by the Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike, during the funeral service at the National Ecumenical Centre in Abuja on Saturday. Wike explained that the President gave the directive to support the family in the wake of their loss and to acknowledge the late Adayilo’s service and dedication to the civil service. Wike said the gesture was aimed at easing the burden that comes with the death of a breadwinner, noting that Dr. Adayilo had distinguished herself as a committed public servant. He described her as a humble administrator who served with diligence and left an indelible mark on the FCT Administration. Dr. Adayilo, the pioneer Head of Service of the FCT, died suddenly on September 1, 2025, shortly after attending a church service. Her passing was described as a great loss to the civil service community, with tributes pouring in from colleagues, family, and friends who praised her integrity, commitment, and service to humanity. Although details of the postings for her children were not disclosed, one of them is currently serving in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Port Harcourt. Government officials assured that the directive would be implemented promptly as instructed by the President. The funeral service was attended by senior government officials, civil servants, religious leaders, and members of the public, who celebrated Dr. Adayilo’s life of service and faith.
