Lagos APC Slams Aregbesola Over Claims of ADC’s 2027 Takeover

The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has dismissed remarks made by former Osun Governor Rauf Aregbesola that the African Democratic Congress will take over Aso Rock and Lagos Government House in 2027.
In a statement released on Sunday, APC’s spokesman Seye Oladejo described Aregbesola’s claims as “empty boasts” and accused him of turning against the party that nurtured him.
According to Oladejo, Aregbesola’s criticisms of the APC only damage his own legacy. “When Aregbesola condemns the APC, he is not damaging us – he is shredding his own résumé,” he said.
The APC also questioned the ADC’s electoral credentials, labeling the party a “political mirage” due to its poor performance in recent by-elections.
Oladejo emphasized that Lagosians and Nigerians prioritize performance over rhetoric, highlighting the APC’s achievements in infrastructure, education, healthcare, and governance reforms.
He expressed confidence in the APC’s victory in the 2027 elections, predicting that the party will be rewarded for its delivery while the ADC will be reminded that “betrayal is not a political strategy.”
Aregbesola made the remarks while unveiling a grassroots mobilization strategy aimed at securing victories for the ADC in the 2027 general elections.
The ADC has gained significant momentum since becoming the platform for the opposition coalition led by Abubakar Atiku. Despite this, the APC remains confident about its prospects in the upcoming elections.
