Akume Urges Benue Citizens to Back Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, has called on the people of Benue State to continue supporting President Bola Tinubu, stressing that the success of the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda depends on collective commitment.
Akume made the appeal over the weekend while commissioning fully renovated classroom blocks and an ICT laboratory at his alma mater, LGEA Primary School, Wannune, in Tarka Local Government Area.
The project was facilitated through the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC).
Fighting back emotion as he recalled his school days, the SGF described the occasion as deeply fulfilling.
“My journey to stardom began here many decades ago. Renovating this school and equipping it with an ICT laboratory is my modest contribution to the growth of my alma mater and to the advancement of education in Benue,” he said.
Akume, however, noted that the long-term transformation of the state and Nigeria at large requires sustained support for President Tinubu.
“I want to admonish you to continue to support my principal, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He has initiated life-changing interventions that only he has the drive and capacity to implement for the betterment of all citizens,” the SGF stated.
He cited ongoing road projects, including the Makurdi–Katsina Ala Road reconstruction, the Badagry–Sokoto Highway, the Makurdi–Otukpo–9th Mile Road, the Lagos–Calabar Super Highway, and the Enugu–Onitsha Expressway, as examples of initiatives that will enhance connectivity and stimulate economic growth.
As part of his contribution to education, Akume also announced a scholarship scheme for pupils of LGEA Primary School, Wannune, and encouraged youths to take advantage of the newly established Federal Polytechnic in the community, which now offers 21 accredited courses.
Community and traditional leaders, including the Ter Mbakor, HRH Gregory Gandeoron, lauded Akume’s gesture and pledged continued loyalty to the Tinubu administration.
Representatives of UBEC, led by Executive Secretary Hajiya Aisha Garba, also commended the SGF for facilitating the project and reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to grassroots education.
