Tyson, Mayweather to Meet in Exhibition Bout in 2026

Boxing legends, Mike Tyson and Floyd Mayweather Jr. will meet in an exhibition fight scheduled for spring 2026, promoters confirmed on Friday.

The match, organized by CSI Sports and Fight Sports, will not count toward either man’s professional record. Details of the venue, date, and weight class are expected to be announced in the coming months.

Tyson, 59, the former undisputed heavyweight champion, last appeared in the ring in 2024 in an exhibition against YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul. He retired from professional boxing in 2005 with a record of 50 wins, six losses, and 44 knockouts.

Mayweather, 48, retired in 2017 with an undefeated record of 50–0. Since then, he has participated in a series of lucrative exhibition contests, including bouts against mixed martial arts fighters and social media stars.

Reacting to the announcement, Tyson expressed doubt the fight would materialize, warning it could be “detrimental” to Mayweather’s health. Mayweather, however, said he viewed the clash as part of his long-standing legacy. “I’ve been doing this for 30 years,” he said. “If I am going to do something, it’s going to be big and legendary.”

The showdown brings together two of the sport’s most recognized names, raising anticipation among fans worldwide for what is expected to be one of the biggest exhibition events in boxing history.
