Buhari Loyalists Back Tinubu, Vow 2027 Victory for APC

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has received members of the Buhari Organization, led by former Nasarawa State governor, Senator Tanko Al-Makura, and former Katsina State governor, Aminu Bello Masari, at the Aso Villa Banquet Hall in Abuja.
The delegation, made up of former and founding members of the defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), reaffirmed their loyalty to the president and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), pledging full support for Tinubu’s administration and his re-election bid in 2027.
Speaking on behalf of the group, Senator Al-Makura described the gathering as a homecoming for many who had stood firmly behind President Muhammadu Buhari during the CPC era before the 2013 merger that produced the APC.
He noted that the delegation included former lawmakers, governorship candidates, and party stalwarts whose political journey had been defined by “commitment, loyalty, and camaraderie.”
Al-Makura, who served as the pioneer CPC governor, thanked Tinubu for what he called the president’s “dignified and loyal” role in honoring Buhari after his passing. He recalled that Tinubu not only presided over the burial rites but also ensured a befitting state burial with full military honors.
“Mr. President, your gesture was a powerful statement of dignity, loyalty, and legacy,” Al-Makura said. “You and President Muhammadu Buhari shared more than a political alliance; you shared a vision of a Nigeria grounded in discipline, justice, economic sovereignty, and responsible governance.”
The former governor commended Tinubu for laying the foundation of the Renewed Hope Agenda, describing it as “a pragmatic, scientific, and rewarding blueprint for national restoration and prosperity.” He assured the president that the Buhari political family would work tirelessly to secure victory for the APC in 2027.
“Mr. President, to this end, we assure you of our full and unwavering support for you, your administration, and our party, the APC, which remains our home, our platform, our pride, and our cause,” he said.
The group also urged Tinubu not to relent in addressing insecurity and sustaining reforms aimed at guaranteeing the economic well-being of Nigerians.
The visit is the latest in a series of political endorsements for Tinubu as he consolidates his base across party structures ahead of the next general elections.
