Ibadan Ready for Coronation of 44th Olubadan

The committee responsible for organizing the coronation of Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadan held its inaugural meeting on Monday. Chaired by Chief Bayo Oyero.

The meeting was attended by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Demola Ojo, among others.

A one-week program of activities has been mapped out to culminate in the coronation ceremony scheduled for September 26.

The program will kick off with an Interdenominational service at the Olubadan Palace on September 22, followed by a Cultural Day on September 23.

Other activities lined up include a coronation lecture by Professor Toyin Falola and a Mega Praise worship session at the Civic Centre, Idi-Ape, Ibadan. The coronation ceremony will take place at Mapo Hall on September 26.

Representatives of the Olubadan designate, local government council chairmen, and other dignitaries were in attendance at the meeting, which was held to finalize preparations for the coronation ceremony.
