Daniel Denies Defection Rumours, Reaffirms Commitment to APC

Speculation about Senator Gbenga Daniel’s political allegiance has been put to rest after the former Ogun State governor confirmed he remains firmly in the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The lawmaker, who represents Ogun East Senatorial District, stated on Monday through his media office, dismissing reports that he was preparing to return to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

“For the avoidance of doubt, Senator Gbenga Daniel is and remains a member of the All Progressives Congress, APC, a Senator and remains on the platform of the APC,” the statement read.

Daniel’s clarification comes on the heels of his recent suspension, which had fuelled speculation about a possible political shift.

His media office stressed that such claims were unfounded and reaffirmed that the senator continues to align with the ruling party.

With this declaration, Daniel has sought to reassure both his constituents and political associates that he remains loyal to the APC, quelling the rumors of defection that had circulated in recent days.
