PHEDC Apologises to Akwa Ibom Residents Over Persistent Power Outages

The Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company (PHEDC) has apologised to customers in Akwa Ibom State over the recurrent power outages that have disrupted supply across parts of the state.
In a statement posted on its official X handle on Thursday, the company explained that the outage was caused by a line fault on the Alaoji Aba 132kv transmission line, which feeds the Uyo, Eket, Ekim, and Itu transmission stations.
“We appeal to our esteemed customers feeding from these areas to exercise patience as the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) technical team is working to rectify the fault and restore power as soon as possible,” the statement read.
Residents of the oil-rich state have endured frequent blackouts since the beginning of the year, with PHEDC repeatedly attributing the disruptions to faults along the Aba–Itu 132KV line.
The company assured that efforts are ongoing to restore normal supply once repairs are completed.
