Federal Government Committed to Responding to Nigerians’ Needs, Assures Minister

The Federal Government has reaffirmed its commitment to being responsive to the needs and aspirations of Nigerians.

Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, stated this at a town hall meeting in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State.

The meeting, attended by stakeholders including artisans and students, was part of the government’s nationwide sensitization program on policies, services, and initiatives. Idris emphasized the importance of building trust, fostering national unity, promoting transparency and accountability, and encouraging citizens’ participation in governance.

The minister highlighted the government’s achievements in various sectors, including agriculture, healthcare, and education. He noted that President Bola Tinubu’s administration has provided incentives to farmers, removed tariffs on essential imports, and distributed fertilizers to increase food production and support agricultural development.

Idris also highlighted the government’s healthcare initiatives, including the expansion of the Health Insurance Programme, strengthening of routine immunization, and the Primary Health Care Programme.

He cited the extension of Maternal and Child Health Services to 177 healthcare facilities across Ekiti State and the upgrade of healthcare centers, such as the Ikole Ekiti General Hospital to Federal Medical Centre.

The minister noted that the Student Loan Scheme has been beneficial to students in tertiary institutions in Ekiti State, with NELFUND disbursing N549.2 million to beneficiaries in the state.

Ekiti State Commissioner for Information, Taiwo Olatunbosun, praised the Tinubu administration’s achievements, saying they have greatly impacted the lives of Nigerians.

The Chief Press Secretary to Ekiti State Governor, Yinka Oyebode, described the president as a principled and courageous leader who is working to stabilize the country’s economy.
