Trade is Lifeblood of Nigeria’s Economy, Emphasises Uzoka-Anite, Backs National Single Window Initiative

The Minister of State for Finance, Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite, has underscored the central role of trade in driving Nigeria’s economic growth, innovation, and national development.
Speaking on the vision of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Uzoka-Anite described trade as “the lifeblood of every thriving economy,” stressing that the administration’s commitment to the National Single Window (NSW) is a transformational step towards modernising Nigeria’s trade processes.
According to her, the adoption of the NSW will streamline operations, reduce bottlenecks, enhance efficiency, and bring Nigeria in line with global best practices. She explained that many advanced economies have already digitised their trade systems, creating more transparent, competitive, and investor-friendly environments.
“The establishment of a Single Window system is not just important but absolutely necessary to unlock opportunities, empower businesses, and strengthen Nigeria’s place in the global economy,” Uzoka-Anite stated.
She urged importers, exporters, and other stakeholders to embrace the digitised trade system.
