Jigawa Police, INEC Caution Voters Ahead of Babura/Garki By-Election

The Jigawa State Commissioner of Police, CP Dahiru Muhammad, has issued a stern warning to security personnel and political parties against violating electoral laws during the Saturday by-election in Babura/Garki Federal Constituency.
Speaking on Friday at the state police headquarters in Dutse while hosting the INEC National Commissioner, Prof. Abdullahi Abdu Zuru, CP Muhammad stressed that the Command would not tolerate any act capable of disrupting the electoral process.
He urged officers deployed for election duty to maintain professionalism, impartiality, and vigilance, adding that any personnel found engaging in misconduct would face disciplinary action.
Prof. Zuru, on his part, reiterated INEC’s commitment to conducting a free, fair, and credible poll, calling on political parties and their supporters to respect the rules and shun acts of violence or vote buying.
Security agencies and INEC also assured residents of adequate arrangements to safeguard lives, property, and the integrity of the ballot during the exercise.
