FG Kickstarts Citizens’ Engagement Tour in South-East

The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, on Thursday began a two-day sensitisation and inspection tour of Federal Government projects in Enugu and Ebonyi states, aimed at strengthening citizen engagement and promoting transparency.
Idris arrived at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu, where he was received by state officials before proceeding to inspect ongoing and completed projects in the region.
The visit, according to the minister, is part of a nationwide initiative to showcase government achievements and gather direct feedback from Nigerians.
Following the project tour, Idris is scheduled to host a Citizens’ Engagement Forum at the Enugu State Government House, bringing together stakeholders from various sectors to discuss government policies, programmes, and the needs of the people.
While meeting with Governor Peter Mbah in Enugu, the minister reaffirmed the state’s strategic importance to the South-East and the nation at large.
“Enugu remains a critical hub for economic growth and national unity, and the Federal Government is committed to deepening its presence and support in the state,” Idris said.
The engagement tour will continue in Ebonyi State on Friday, with similar inspections and stakeholder interactions planned.
