Zelensky Calls for Global Pressure on Russia to End Invasion

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is urging the international community to increase pressure on Russia to bring an end to its invasion of Ukraine. Ahead of crucial talks in Berlin with European leaders and US President Donald Trump, Zelensky emphasized the need for collective action to achieve a fair peace.

Zelensky’s “victory plan” aims to conclude the war by next year, focusing on three primary areas: securing an unconditional invitation for Ukraine to join NATO, bolstering Ukraine’s defense capabilities with advanced weaponry, and ensuring substantial pledges for post-war reconstruction.

However, Russia has dismissed Zelensky’s proposal, labeling it “ephemeral”. Meanwhile, President Trump is preparing to meet with Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, expressing optimism about having “constructive conversations” to end the conflict.

In a broader push to rally international support for Ukraine’s cause, Zelensky has also criticized countries like China, Iran, and North Korea for backing Russia, referring to them as a “coalition of criminals”. The Ukrainian president’s efforts underscore the urgent need for a unified global response to address the ongoing conflict.
