Babachir Lawal Urges Inclusive Leadership for 2027 Presidency

Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachir Lawal, has called for the emergence of a president in 2027 who will unite Nigerians and promote justice for all.

Speaking on Monday during Channels Television’s Politics Today, Lawal said the country needs a leader who can give “every Nigerian a sense of belonging and a sense of justice,” regardless of ethnicity, religion or political affiliation.

“Power should go to the person that will give every Nigerian a sense of belonging, a sense of justice,” he stated.

The former SGF, who served under ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, did not declare support for any individual but stressed that inclusive leadership was essential to address the country’s divisions and foster national cohesion.

Lawal’s remarks come amid heightened political manoeuvring and coalition talks ahead of the 2027 general elections.
