Wike, New Associates Set for Mega Rally in Bayelsa for Tinubu

A political organisation known as New Associates in alliance with the Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, will be staging a mega rally in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State capital, as an attempt to mobilize support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The organization, referred to as The New Associates, aims to utilize the event to formally launch its Bayelsa chapter and unveil its officials. The rally is, according to organizers, meant to consolidate grassroot support for Tinubu as well as demonstrate appreciation for the leadership of Wike.

New Associates is an acronym of Nyesom Ezenwo Wike (NEW) whose name draws attention to his strong political hold in the South-South region. The body has become a potent mobilization outfit in the area, focusing on mobilizing the rural folks to support the current government.

One of the rally organizers, Ebilade Ekerefe, a former spokesman for the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Worldwide, stressed that The New Associates is shifting to consolidate Tinubu’s support base ahead of the 2027 elections.

The New Associates is a grassroots political movement initiated by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory to rally grassroots support in the states of the South-South geopolitical zone for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in office in 2027,” Ekerefe said.

The rally, Ekerefe said, would also be used to enlighten the public about the achievements of Tinubu’s administration, particularly in the South-South. The group would want to present a number of infrastructural and development projects started by the administration to maintain regional support.

He further characterized Wike as an exemplary leader who was known for being direct and pragmatic in governance, adding that his leadership has been key to the efforts of the group.

As the 2027 general elections draw near, political alignments and mobilization on the ground are taking shape.

The Bayelsa New Associates rally is the pacesetter to a grand plan to consolidate Tinubu’s support in the South-South, heretofore the stronghold of the opposition.

With this move, Wike’s political umbrella remains the determinant in making the politics, cementing the alliances, and becoming a force to reckon with in the next election season.
