Osimhen, Sané Unveiled to Thunderous Cheers at Galatasaray in Historic Double Signing

In a historic moment for Turkish football, Galatasaray on Saturday officially presented Nigerian striker, Victor Osimhen and German winger Leroy Sané to thousands of ecstatic fans at RAMS Park. The electrifying unveiling, held just before the team’s pre-season clash against Lazio, drew massive crowds to the Ali Sami Yen Sports Complex, creating an atmosphere of celebration and spectacle.

The star-studded double signing marks one of the boldest transfer windows in Galatasaray’s history, signaling the club’s intent to strengthen its European campaign after securing the Turkish Super Lig title.

Dazzling lights, music, and a full stadium reception accompanied the marquee signings, with club officials estimating that the event could generate between €6 to €7 million in merchandise, ticket sales, and sponsorship revenue.

Osimhen, 26, made a permanent switch from Napoli following an extraordinary loan season, where he scored 37 goals and provided eight assists in 41 appearances. His contributions were instrumental in Galatasaray’s domestic double. The €75 million transfer, now the most expensive in Turkish football history, includes €40 million upfront, €5 million in performance-based bonuses, and a payment plan stretched over two years. Napoli will also earn 10% from any future sale.

The Nigerian international has signed a four-year contract worth €15 million annually, excluding endorsement deals and image rights. Osimhen reportedly turned down a mammoth €40 million-a-year offer from Saudi side Al-Hilal to remain in Europe and commit to Galatasaray—a move hailed as both emotional and strategic.

“This is where I can express myself fully through my football and with everything that I am,” Osimhen shared during his first official interview with the club’s media. “I’m truly grateful to everyone who worked to bring me here. I came because I love this place, and I feel good here.”

Galatasaray Vice President Abdullah Kavukcu revealed that the striker had given up an “extraordinary” sum to facilitate his move.

“Victor made a financial sacrifice no other player would consider. We are proud to have him.”

Joining him is Leroy Sané, who arrives as a free agent following his exit from Bayern Munich. The German winger signed a three-year deal reportedly worth between £10 million and £11 million annually. Known for his blistering pace and Champions League experience, Sané is expected to bring added firepower to Galatasaray’s frontline.

The Turkish giants’ bold transfer moves come amid growing ambition to reassert themselves in European football, and the arrivals of Osimhen and Sané are already energizing the fanbase and boosting the club’s international profile.
