Dankwambo Declares Gombe Will Remain PDP Territory

Former Governor of Gombe State and serving Senator, Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo, has declared that Gombe will remain a stronghold of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Dankwambo made the statement on Sunday during an extended PDP stakeholders’ meeting held in Gombe. The gathering brought together party leaders, loyalists, and elected representatives to deepen unity, mobilise grassroots support, and share insights from the recently held 101st National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting in Abuja. In a Facebook post shared on Monday through his verified handle, Dankwambo described the meeting as a “clarion call for loyalty, unity, and the reaffirmation of the core values that define our great party.” He expressed confidence in the party’s continued influence across the state, stating, “I am convinced beyond any doubt that Gombe State is and remains the PDP’s stronghold—an integral part of our national fabric.” According to him, the remarkable solidarity displayed by PDP leaders and members at all levels reflects the party’s strength and resilience. “The remarkable solidarity displayed by leadership at all levels, and our members in both the National and State Assemblies, is unprecedented and a testament to our resilience and unbreakable bond,” he said. The meeting is seen as part of the PDP’s early efforts to consolidate its base in Gombe ahead of the 2027 general elections.
